11:53am:
I awoke not 10 minutes ago from a glorious sleep, dreams were in abundance, the sheets were cool and comfy, eyes opening up to what was promising to be a good day of relaxing about and work. Eyes searched around the room, wondering what it is I should do first after getting out of bed. But then the eyes... the eyes... they moved upwards to the ceiling. What they saw could and did disrupt what was my peaceful wake-up... a spider. No, not a daddy-longlegs, not a little brown spiderling (of which all could have been potentially dangerous and equally terrifying)... no... it's a big fucking black spider. Bigger than what I have seen for a while. It was moving.... ever so slightly, at a 90' angle to my body laying down.
11:56am:
So... the plan. The plan is to wait for Jason or Eric to wake up, so I can ask for their help in the action against said spider. I hear no movement from their rooms, I hope they wake soon. I keep looking at the damn thing, even as I am typing. It has stopped moving.
I could grab a broom and try to carry it outside, but I do not want to risk the event of me freaking out and dropping the broom, therefore dropping the spider to run off into an unknown hiding place, giving it further advantage to my mental torture. I cannot spray it with Baygon, as it will drop onto my bed, my PILLOW, and proceed to die.... I can't sleep on fabric to which a spider of that nature has been on.
I wonder what it was doing before I woke up. I wonder how it got there. This is a relatively clean place... the only thing I can think of is the fire heater thing I have in my room... but even that got a thorough spraying as soon as I moved in...
12:09pm:
This is ridiculous, I am so much bigger than it. How can something so small have such an impact on my fear. But then again, it is not only the small eight legged demons that haunt me, I do not agree entirely with the giant that is a Whale Shark... all getting swallowed up on it its giant gaping mouth... they are peaceful.... but, they could swallow you whole by mistake... left to rot in in the back of its mouth, unable to swim out because of the water current floating inwards. You are found, as the whale is killed, a bloated decaying corpse... who died alone in the body of a whale...
12:20pm:
I took a photo of it at full zoom so I can send it to Adam in revenge of 5'oclock Charlie. Bad idea. More hideous on camera, opened the photo up full screen. D: It's an actual thing. The legs... one of us will not see the next hour.
Someone once told me I should never kill a spider, that they are gentle creatures who care only for themselves and their next feed. They do not care of the lumbering giants that are us humans, only when provoked. I think poking it with a broom is seen as a provoking... I just want to drink my tea and listen to some music in peace! I'm fucking sick of this already. I need to wash my hair for work. The spider has moved across from the bed, if I spray, it drops onto the floor.... I could kill it in time. It's moving. That's it, I'm going in.
12:38pm:
It is dead. Oh god, I'm shaking. My nerves are shot. It is dead. I have the bitter taste of Baygon on my tongue, god fucking bless that beautiful poison.
I filmed it, now I can look at that whenever a spider needs to be killed, and have the powerful knowledge that I can actually do it... and for your sick amusement.
Now to dispose of its carcass with the aid of a broom.
Yippee-ki-yay.... motherfucker.

The days I felt alive.
An afternoon in the desert... the harsh fluorescent sun... camels on the floor.
Laughter.
Screaming, huddled together, us against all that was wrong.
Water... the drink of life.
Wobbles, tequila abortions... it was a good trimester.
Potato peelers, Pedro the Puerto Rican the potato peeler stealer.
Audio waves from the stereo, the colours, the tunes of an era.
We were the only two people in our whole world.

Wagin
Here I am, in Wagin.
Its been a good few days, but... I must tell you, it's amazing how much adults can chatter mindlessly. Christ, the stories I've had to sit through.. attempting my darndest to look interested. I get home tomorrow, to which I cannot wait to pump my music out in my room room.... alooone.
Right now I am spending some quality time feeding my addiction to the interweb, while the others are in the lounge watching the Christmas carols. I have not been sleeping well, the caravan I sleep in is nice, I must admit, but I just KNOW there is a big fucking spider crawling around in there. I found a small one earlier so I have a feeling I'll be too creeped out to leave myself defenceless as I sleep so I'll probably end up falling asleep on the couch in here tonight. >__>
Oh my, Christmas is soon.
I got this big book of medication drugs so I've been studying that while I'm here. Looking up all the different effects and mechanisms of clinical drugs and herbs. I am a proud medical dweeb. *grin*
Aaaah coffee... you'll help pick me up. It's gotten to the point where I'm starting to feel ill from getting up before 9am every morning. My Mum and Merv are 'botherers'... they always need to be doing something, they believe the day is wasted if waking up past 9am. It contradicts greatly with my own philosophy of lazing about and sleeping well into the afternoon.
On Christmas Eve I'm heading on down to my Uncles house, where I will get to see my Dad! ^__^ Been a year since his last visit, once a year is too rare.
Oh, I got $100 in my family Christmas Card.... V Festival here I come! :D Happy days!

Tietam Brown
Just got back from Reece's place, a day of BBQ'ing and WWE. Undertaker was in the main event, which made me happy. Scott and I came a draw in the tally of betting who was going to win the matches. ^__^
The past few days have been hazy, my sleep patterns have gone completely out of whack, especially because of that 5:30am wake up on Saturday for work... but that shift was actually alright. It's nicer in the mornings, and Lisa was the supervisor, who is also a friend from Uni classes.
I really enjoyed this Semester, it was very laid back compared to others throughout the Semester, I had a lot of fun with the Culture unit and it was neat to have a class with James, and Adam too. My final product turned out rad, in my opinion, haha. Writing of napping, desert escapes, Ayreon and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. My endless nights of drinking through the first few weeks really set me back, as it became more of a habit to spend my weekdays and weekends with Josh, James and others. Much fun was had.
40 days till DT. Oh god, I still can't believe it. I don't think I'll fully be able to comprehend it even as I'm standing in the crowd waiting. To feel the anticipation! To hear the solos! To hear Labrie hit those ever high notes! !! Looking forward to Smashing Pumpkins and QOTSA too, man, that concert is going to kick some everlasting awesomeness.
Heading down to Wagin on Thursday, can't wait to spend some time with Uncle Arthur again. Thinking of doing a charcoal drawing of a motorbike for Merv, a sort of peace offering.
It's strange that I actually prefer my strong, bitter coffee than those of a proper cafe. They're too sweet.
Reece got me Mick Foley's novel, Tietam Brown, for Christmas, I cannot wait to read it! Apparently if I'm thinking of the right one, it's got some fucked up scenes in it.. a woman dressed as a nun, a father, his son and a weird sexual experience directed by that father.... @_@ Sounds brilliant! I need to find something extra neat for Reece's gift, he always has the perfect choices of gifts for me. He knows me too well. ^_^
I borrowed from him the collection of Trigun. Hehe, me watching Anime, how scary. I get addicted to things to easily, the desire to start what I finish. As soon as I got into Achewood, I read the entire archive in less than a week, same with Something Positive. Might start watching it tonight with my new DVD player (thanks Ben!). :D I can finally watch the movies that I have, and a TV of my own to play them on. Instead of lazing about the computer, I get to laze about on my bed with my feet up in front of the TV. This, is truly, what the holidays are all about.

This was too good not to share, from the pages of Uncyclopedia:

On Charles Manson:
Manson was believed by many of having satanic mind control powers, mostly because he was always seen followed around by groups of women despite body odor that was once described as "a thousand rotting fish carcases stuffed into dirty old socks, dipped in kerosine and then lit on fire while being hurled at incontinent midgets."
----------------------------------------------------------------
On Mick Foley:
Mick Foley was an acclaimed American pornographer, rapper, professional wrestler and politician. He was born in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico after winning a grueling 15 hour "first blood" hardcore match with his mother's womb.

The Undertakers wins at Wrestlemania: he has defeated:
On Dream Theater:
Three of Dream Theaters members are also well credited for partaking in the Liquid Tension Experiment, in which they accidentally created World War 3. However, thanks to a perticularly jerk-offable guitar solo from Petrucci, he was able to send it 10,000 years into the future to avoid any major disasters.
John Myung - Myung is known for his unique bass playing style, his rugby playing on stage and for his muteness.
John Petrucci - He Practices guitar 63 hours a day due to his time reverse signatures. He is capable of playing over 50 billion notes per second, and has the power to travel back in time.

Today has been good!
Mike came round yesterday and we spent the night trying to fix my sound on this computer (to no success) and watching Pink Floyd's DVD Pulse. God, that concert is amazing. I get shivers when I see the plane going across the arena, and during the guitar solo of Comfortably Numb. Floyd were truly the definition of musical brilliance.
In the morning we headed into Freo for some breakfast, coffee and croissant.. heaven. Took a peek around the markets, and Mike bought me a guitar pick, which has given me inspiration to actually get back into playing some tunes. I want an acoustic, the authentic sound. My guitar is, although faithful, terribly out of tune and has seen many a plucking of the strings.. was admiring some in Cash Converters.
Said goodbye to Mike at the train-station, it's a shame that this has all happened right before he leaves. The best things always happen at the worst times. Although, on second thought, it is a perfect time. I think I am unable to maintain any sort of relationship when we are both in a reachable distance, while I enjoy the company immensely, I can't help but feel like they want to be doing something else, or forming doubts about everything.
BUT. I am following the wise words of my friend Joel and not letting anything get to me this time round. Going with the flow, takin' it nice and easy, and just enjoy it. After all, that's what it's all about, worry about everything else when they happen. I just hope Mike can stick up with me until such a time I can let go of my quiet and awkward nature that obscures my opening up with someone who I haven't spent a long long time in person with.
On that thought, I think I am becoming somewhat of an internet/cyber space recluse. I feel perfectly fine about talking and chatting away on the internet, all my conversational problems disappear and feel right at home with a keyboard. When it comes to face to face talking, I mumble... and my mind wonders. I become hard to deal with, and lame.
Although, I have worked on it to a degree that I am able to handle one on one conversation, I am still the shy Jen that I am when in a group. But, that's just who I am I suppose.
When I got home from Fremantle today I lazed about home, cracked open a bottle of wine that I was saving for days like these and listened to a few albums. At sunset, I went for a walk to the lake (yes, I found it!). After two years and several night time expeditions, I was beginning to doubt it's existence. But, foolish as I was, never ventured off far into the street enough and as of in this house, the entrance is a mere minute or two away from here.
The lake was beautiful, I walked a bit around it and found a bench overlooking it. I sat down and listened to Moby's song 18. And.. I've got to tell you, it was fucking beautiful. So calming, so nice. The simple pleasures in life are always the best ones.
After that walk I came home and started a list of the things I want to do in my lifetime. Some can be achieved if circumstances permit them, some are dependent on having the money to do so, and others are to be a reflection of oneself, whether or not I can find the inspiration in life and motivation to do them.
... Arrgh! It's happening! The Summer days at home have lead me to obscure thoughts beyond my everyday, aiming and pondering over things that could happen, or what I hope to happen. This can either be a good thing, it can lead me to great revelations and a stronger optimism of life, or it can lead to a spiraling season depression that only the constant routine of the semester study can fix. Although, I still maintain my opinion that this Summer will be different, with all the Dream Theater business, Mike and moving house and such.. it has got off to a really good start.
11:09pm. No-one online. House is quiet. Stuarts BBQ got cancelled, although I might be seeing him tomorrow, he said he has a bunch of kitchenware that I can have, will be good to see him and Susan again. I am also (shock) going to lunch with Mum and Merv. This is the first test of out new found truce. I hope it goes okay, I am a different person to who I was when he knew me, I hope he sees that.

Good times ahead.
Things are well right now, I must admit.
Listening to Floyd's When The Tigers Broke Free... waiting for kettle to boil.
Aaaah there it is. You can feel the hotness going down, bliss. I think I'm the only one who can drink my next to sugar-less over strength coffee. But by god, it's good.
One of our puppies has gone missing, there is essentially no where to get out of this place, and I only left the house once, locking it both entry and exit. I mean, it's double doored, there's no way he could have escaped. But now, because I'm the new guy... what if they think I fucked up the locks and left a door open?
I hope he turns up, it's their friends dog even, to which we're just looking after.

So now I'm really worried.. I hope Mocca is okay.
Hmm... well I guess things aren't all picture perfect.
But, yesterday I went on a sort of... date.. with Mike. ^__^ I think he was put up to it, (I'm lookin' at you Adam) :P. It was sweet, nothing else romantic like a gore/blood filled zombie flick and iced coffee. Oh, the sweet awkwardness that is a first date.
I need a new job, I'm working on Boxing Day and New Years Eve with my flat rate of $12.56. Isn't that damn near illegal? Bah.

I awoke from a nap not knowing where I was.
Moved houses today... out of the Student Village.
The Village; students always up till the early AM's, TV/stereo's blasting, people drinking, flatmates cooking. I'm really really really going to miss it. Waking up in the morning with my coffee outside, chatting with Kirke with him and I being the late night metal geeks that we are. Hearing James' skateboard to precise times that you could set a watch to. The laid back attitude out flat had... Hsin and Mitty, Emma...
This new place is wonderful though, makes the SV look like some lower class homes for the needy. Had its charm though, it did.
Got myself a double bed though, no more falling out of bed for me.
Adam and Mike helped me with the move today, they were so insanely helpful... it would have taken me ages to get all this stuff over by trolley loads.
So now I'm sitting here, unpacking things at a slow rate, waiting for Skywhales to finish sending, can't wait to hear it. I wonder what I should do tomorrow... no work till Tuesday.

Flat 78: Two years of madness.
Sitting now in an empty room, they keys on the board sound louder, it's lost all it's personality. Leaving tomorrow afternoon thanks to Adams Dad, I would have been absolutely lost without their offer.
You know, on second thought this empty room doesn't look so bad, simplicity of it. Nice and clean, but you couldn't tell what sort of person lived in here, no Petrucci on the walls... CD's absent, books non-existant. They're all in the lounge in boxes and bags.
I found out today that my Dad and Helen broke up. I worry about my Dad a lot, I always worry he is feeling too lonely, too depressed. He does nothing with his life, he likes the idle ways but seeing his family only once a year at Christmas... it doesn't give him a lot to look forward waking up everyday. When Helen came along I was so damn happy for him, he has been longing after my Mum and never really fell out of love with her since 1996. From 1996-2006 he never went out with someone, never really looked for someone to fall in love with. Apparently it was Helen's decision... which makes it even worse. He always says he is happy, but I have a feeling he is not.
I went out last night with Mitty and two of his friends. We went to Fremantle, some.. place. The band was good, played all sorts of Metallica and AC/DC, RATM even. Better than what a normal drinking place would play. Had a few drinks, met some strange people. Danced in the street to a jazz player and a drummers tunes. Got home about 2:30am then just crashed.
Exams are over. Summer is here. Bring on the depressing days and nights alone at home...
