So, here in Whyalla, FINALLY having access to the internet thanks to the very rude library staff.
Things are okay, and I am on limited time to really go in depth, but things are not bad. My train over was alright in the beginning, except for the fact it was very closed in, and the sun was shining on me the whole time, and guess who forget their sunscreen? >.> I managed to avoid getting burned, but holding a jacket up to my face in between the seat and the window... so that was quite uncomfortable. But, you know... yeah, okay.
Was harrassed by a guy in Kalgoorlie, and had no air conditioning for the second half of the trip. But ... uh... that's not really all. Once arriving in Port Augusta my Dad was not on the platform, be it in mind that this was 2:30am, raining, and I was alone there in a strange town with my luggage. I called Helen (Dads partner) and asked her where he was. She told me "Oh god Jennifer, he should be there meeting you there, he was meant to be there hours ago". Seeing as the train was an hour late, there was no way that he was on his way.
So, panic set in, because I must admit, my father is quite old, and frail. I really did expect the worse. After about half an hour, the train guard was heading home and asked me if I needed some help. I told him that my Dad was missing and I couldnt reach him so he stayed with me. I called Helen up again and by this time we were both quite upset, thinking the worst had happened to Dad. I couldn't get the image of him face down in a bush somewhere bleeding, because, truth be told, Port Augusta is a pretty seedy place, especially at night.
So, I went to the police station to wait and the policemen were really nice, giving me coffee.. oh god damn, should I mention the fact that I hadn't slept since before I left Perth!? And even then, those few days before I got about a total of ~5 hours sleep. So I was pretty wrecked, close to delirium and upset and terrified about my Dad missing.
A few hours passed and my Uncle George was going to catch a bus up from Whyalla to help me and find Dad, when to my great relief the police came up to me and smiled and said "guess who we found". Dad came walking in, as tired as I with a coffee milk in hand and then I started crying again as I was SO glad that he was okay.
Turns out he booked a motel for me and him to stay the night in Port Augusta and he accidently fell asleep and missed the time for him to meet me on the platform. He had been wandering around the town for ages looking for me. Hahaha... oh Dad, you silly fool! He bought a new phone after that and told me he'd never leave it behind again.
So, things were okay, and turned out good. But, I must admit, those few hours were the most terrifying I had ever experienced. I couldn't relax or calm down and thought the worst. That made me realise just how much I love him.
Anyway, I've been here a few days now then. I just went to go book into getting a tattoo as Dad wanted to get me it for Christmas but surprisingly here in the small town of Whyalla, the parlor is booked out for weeks to come. >_> Which is kind of disappointing, but, I can always get it back home.
Helen is really nice but she is suffering from lung cancer and emphysaema (excuse the spelling). She is taken care of by Dad who is her official medical carer. She can't walk more than about 10 meters without getting severly out of breath and has to go onto the oxygen tank and the other machine she uses regularly to help her breathe. It's quite sad, she's incredibly nice, and I am glad that she is around to keep Dad company and vice versa. The only sad thing is.... she is not expected to live for another year..
Uh.. I got a message from Sytadel the other day to tell me that the Uni results were up and ready! I called him up and he checked the results for me...!!!
I PASSED!!!
Parasitology - 51%
Theories of Mind - 78% (SO close to a High Distinction)
Advances in Medical Science - was it, 68%? I think. ^.^
So yeah man, I'm happy as all hell. I have my Biomedical Science degree!! *dances*
So now, the future awaits, the first hurdle is over and done with. From here on in it's all uphill.
Reece: someone tried to hack into my WoW account, I got all the emails and such. I hope my account is okay.... does this happen often, with random folk trying different techniques on random accounts? I'm pissed off that someone would try and do that! >.< I miss playing already... but Reece I bought the expansion, Burning Crusade! $20 over here plus a guide, can't wait to see you and the others online. I hope to see you when I get back. ^.^
Take care! See you all on the 23rd. :)

December
6:56am. No, of course I didn't get up early on a Sunday, rather I am greeting it from Saturday... the sun is out, bright and full of life. I am in my room, listening to Opeth and doing various other things. One of which is writing in this.
I leave for Whyalla on Wednesday. Arrive there on Friday. I've got to start packing soon, and doing the laundry. I kind of wish this trip wasn't so long (till the 23rd), but... ah!! Why didn't I choose the shorter option!?
Not that I have anything to do here... and all I'm really worried about is having no internet. Which is quite lame when you think about it, so I'm going to get some good books and spend my days over there relaxing and getting acquainted with an old friend named TV. Various other things are planned too, so I am looking forward to it.
So I started playing World of Warcraft a few days ago. Level 13. ^.^ It's... incredible! I didn't realise the world would be so big, and I'm really getting into it. It's a shame I won't be able to play it till I get back (unless Whyalla has an internet/gaming cafe.... to which I HIGHLY doubt). But, it'll be there when I get back.

I got to play the new Guitar Hero yesterday... and it blew my mind to be able to play a Dream Theater song on there. It was strange, and yet incredibly rad at the same time. A Tool song managed to get me though, and I failed half way through the song on Medium. -__-"
So I guess this will be the last entry till Christmas, so I hope you all have a wonderful next few weeks leading up to the holiday season. Be merry, and jolly.. and whatnot. ^.^

Picnic
Uh... I've been thinking of how to post this post of mine, the final one for the degree of Biomedical Science. It's strange.... as still, days after, it has not hit me yet. I thought I'd be ecstatic, overjoyed, great sense of accomplishment, but, I don't. :/ Maybe because I am worried I have failed Parasitology... I am going to wait till the results before I celebrate.
Uh...
Uh...
Since Thursday what have I done? Oh yes: after the exam I had a nice dinner with a friend and we lazed around and listened to some tunes.
Saturday I went with Adamo and Roberto to Amps for a good metal gig. The bands were MUCH MUCH better than I expected, and I was incredibly impressed. I hope to check some of these bands out more down the track. Viking metal FTW.
Sunday (which is... today) I went on a picnic with Hsin, Val, Mitty, Rachel and Jen-Jen in Kings Park. It was much fun! I kind of miss these guys, they were very nice housemates and I am glad to have been able to get to know them during such of that time.
My literary skills are lacking tonight, so I am going to post with pictures instead.

The Nature of All Things
4:43am. After a few hours study tonight, I am ready to embrace sleep despite the fact that I got up at 5pm and haven't even been awake for 12 hours yet. But, I wish to dream. I have no idea how my sleeping patterns are going to hold up for this exam Thursday morning, most likely I will end up staying up all night and then head to my exam, the sleep the ENTIRETY of ... forever.
I've been out a bit, went to see Eleventh He Reaches London again on Saturday night, which was pretty rad. Was at the Amplifier Bar which I thought I hadn't been to, but I have for Bens birthday I think it was once... memory is shocking. Saw the 1990's there I think they were. But yes: EHRL were good, accompanied by a few drinks and no sleep till dawn.
Yesterday I headed to Joels for Survivor Series. Edge's return (yes, I know you're happy about that Reece =P). Half the crew went out to gather the meals of KFC, which was incredibly good. So unhealthy... but good. Ben drove me to the trainstation out in Cannington so I made the long trek home. Being too up and alive at 11pm to wait half an hour for the 99 bus, I ended up walking from the Murdoch trainstation to mine, which I haven't actually done before and realised it was only about a 20 - 25 minute walk.
Final exam Thursday.
Not long till I leave for Adelaide.
MUST GET WINDOWS ON THIS MACHINE
A friend gave me a copy of Fear of a Blank Planet by Porcupine Tree a few months ago. Being lazy and forgetful, I hadn't listened to it in it's entirety until only a few days ago. It's very good, My Ashes - song from the album - is in my head right now, very nice song. Next time I'm in the city I might pick up another album, and some more Neurosis too.
I bought a book of Koans (Kong-Ans). Basically little stories or poems that are unable to be solved, or understood by mere rational thinking. They were mentioned a few times in my Philosophy studies, and I saw this book. Some of them are quite quirky, they bring a smile, some thought. I'll leave you with one:
If to the nature of things
you wish to penetrate,
You will know all, if you can find
the door to just one thing.
Be careful, be careful! Dog laughing outside, "Woof, woof!"

Starlight Souls
This video was made to show the struggle and emotional despair of Mulder dealing with the loss of his sister. It's very well done, and the song fits it absolutely perfectly.
Moby - My Weakness
It's been one of my most beloved songs for quite a while now... in fact, a lot of Moby's tracks are incredibly beautiful. Coupled with fond memories that shall be relived through lonely nights of listening. I was surprised to see when I watched through the X-Files series, that in Season 7 two songs of Moby was used; My Weakness and The Sky is Broken. Such a smile to hear them played during some of the more touching and emotional scenes!
They both brought an amazing feel to the episodes.
Very very beautiful.

Infinite Variety
2:48am
It's been a nice few days, having gone out with Reece on Thursday, and then out with everyone just tonight seeing Davids play then hitting up Fremantle for a few drinks.
Sitting here in bed with the laptop, already I am on that slow progression towards sleep, which is strange and welcoming since I've been having trouble sleeping till the hours past 6am or so. Tomorrow night is a party at Joels/Lauras/Bens/Jamies. It should be a good night, wondering where I will be sleeping though, because no doubt I'll end up staying past the hour of the last bus, and no doubt again that someone will grab the couch before I do. But, little things like that aren't to be worried about, something will sort itself out.
From Sunday afternoon till Wednesday evening I shall be occupied with exam study, will probably spend those evenings up at the library. Philosophy essay is almost completed, I have done my draft and all that is left is the editing/few more paragraphs and then final statement. I want to make this essay perfect.
Next week should be quite rad. First exam down, then Sytadel is coming round with GH for an evening, then off to see Eleventh He Reaches London on Saturday. Although a plan was made to go out to Fremantle again that same night. Dilemma!! Plans will be sorted throughout the week. Again: too late of night to be worrying.
I am both scared and excited about these upcoming holidays, although some thoughts and situations that have arisen these past few weeks offer some comfort, and the looking forward to of good times. So torn between what is right and wrong, and what is best...
All things are so complicated, yet amazingly simple in nature.
All things need direction. Control.
I wonder who is in control. Am I?
All I desire is the most simple of things, yet with them bring so much complication and confusion.
I realised I haven't been thinking about these things this past month, I feel like I've been almost detatched from them, which is a good thing I think. But at the same time I compare it to such that of an assignment, or great task. Something that needs to be done, and yet I keep putting it off. Something that NEEDS my attention and thought. For without it I might lose the true nature of it, and of myself.
Oh god I'm rambling.
But that's okay. Because I am going to log off the world of the internet soon and relax with a wonderful tale of Death.... and his apprentice. Terry Pratchett - Mort. It's a wonderful book, which is why I'm reading it again. I can lose myself so immensely in the story, of all the subtle jokes that are made and the ever quirky characters that you come to love. I think I'm developing a literary crush on Death himself. He's like the awkward Uncle who doesn't really know how to talk to you, but tries his best to act cool.

CML
4:11am, the world (my world) is asleep.
Sitting here, listening to Ayreon with my fresh cup of coffee, taking a break from revision. Currently going through writing up initial study notes for Leukaemia and Childhood Cancers. This is the area that interests me most, as I hope to focus on Cancer research for my post-grad studies. Get into this exciting and hot field of research.
I'm heading to the library at about 8am, going to get my notes sorted and binded thanks to Murdoch Print and going to download all my iLectures of those that I missed without putting strain on the internet here at home. Also going to get all the Philosophy lectures for personal interest.
Staying up to these hours always reminds me of staying at the Armadale house. Those guys used to stay up all night so very often. Me waking up and walking out to the loungeroom at 8am/9am... some ungodly hour of the morning still watching various Anime episodes or chatting away about Linux.. computer technologies. Peeking through the curtain and thinking "hhaaaa, fuck this... *sleeps*"
My friend is bringing around the new Guitar Hero one day this coming week, I get to play Dream Theater on GH!
!!!
!!!
It's really the only thing I'm excited about... to what I remember there are a few other good songs that I wanted to play, but that one... must... play...
I've been thinking about setting up some Summer projects for myself to do. Most likely not going to work, so must do something to fill in my time.
- Get back into CS training.
- Finish Half Life!
- Work on a new art project... perhaps something for Dads 60th?
- Kick myself for making this coffee way too strong.
- Uh...
- Yeah...
I'm sure I'll think of something.

Cult of Luna
Well, today my partner and I handed in the Semester long research project. 25% - 6500 words on the LMNA gene and its mutations to cause the diseases such as Progeria.
After spending 15 hours in the past 2 days alone on this paper, it's been a tremendous effort to get it done. Many hours and meetings throughout these past few months. I was ready to yell at him at various points in time, just for the fact that he was SO DAMN keen on perfection, whereas I am not. But, I guess it was a good experience for me, to work as hard as we did.
Once we signed the cover sheet and handed it to Wayne, our unit organiser, Jia took me aside and got all serious on me for a moment. He apologized that he pushed me so hard in this project, and thanked me for working with him. I thanked him for working with me too, and motivating me. It was a nice moment, after a nice awkward hug we went up to Sir Walters and had a coffee before we wished each other well on our study for exams.
So now I'm sitting here, vaguely aware that I have completed the teaching weeks of my degree in Biomedical Science. Don't worry: I won't get all heavy and emotional on you now: that shall be on the 27th.
But then again: I don't technically graduate till next year. A few moments ago I changed my course details to that of a double major with Philosophy. I'M HERE FOR ANOTHER YEAR!
Hurray!!
I decided to put off Honours, to take a year to myself and study what I have a blossoming interest in, and also take the few extra units I need to get a minor in Infectious Diseases.
So: I shall be a graduate of Biomedical Science & Philosophy with a minor in Infectious Diseases.
Sounds pretty sweet, and personally the reason I chose to double up with Philosophy is not only the keen interest I have, but also because I have an academic crush on my Philosophy lecturer. He's incredibly enthusiastic about his works, he's published quite a few books and I think he's one of the most interesting people I've ever met. I look forward to studying under him for another year.
Speaking of which: must continue my work for this Philosophy essay: Computational Theory of Mind.
NO MORE EARLY MORNINGS
NO MORE SLEEPING IN LECTURES
THE SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE
CULT OF LUNA ARE COMING!
MOGWAI!
NIN!
LAMB OF GOD!
IN FLAMES!
NICK CAVE!
DID I MENTION NO MORE EARLY MORNINGS?
Just found out Cult of Luna are coming here next year in February! That's going to be absolutely incredible!!
Haa... mood.. lifting...
Must repress it.
Get to study Jen.

Halloween
Well despite the subject of last post, things have been pretty rad.
Sunday - Met up with my new friend Chris who I met at Meshuggah. We went to The Bakery to check out a few local bands, including one of his favourites: Eleventh He Reaches London. Despite their 'screamo' moments, they weren't actually quite bad. They are doing their EP launch I believe on the 22nd, to which we plan to go see as well. This guy has a pretty similar taste in music to mine, and we spent last Wednesday together as well watching Mastodon and Isis DVDs and then went out for a few drinks in the city. His friends were pretty nice, and despite the fact I got quite ill by the end of the night (thankyou, medication, you fuck me over so bad), the night ended with more Mastodon.
The week at Uni went okay, missed quite a few lectures thanks to assignments, our gene research project is almost done, we've almost reached the 5000 word goal, and we've put a lot of work into it, so I hope we get a decent grade for it. I'm actually quite proud of it, it sums up nicely the understanding of a vast majority of concepts we've studied over the past three years and our now honed research skills. I've never read so many research articles in my life, we have quite the knowledge about Progeria and other similar laminopathies now. I hope to print off a few copies if anyone would like to read it, may send one to my Mum to prove I'm actually learning something here haha.
Friday - Halloween!
This night was pretty rad, I went as a Japanese Doll, it was my first Halloween party, the first time I had the opportunity to dress up. Some of the costumes there were fantastic! Alia, you did a wonderful job planning such a gathering!
I ended up sleeping quite early, about 1am? I believe. Someone else was in charge of the photo taking, and there is quite a few photos to share!
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v467/Bojko/Halloween/
That's the link to the Photobucket album, let me know if it works for you guys, I had to make sure it was for public viewing, I'm not a big fan of this photo uploading site, but it should be okay now. It was nice to hang out with you guys again. :)
It's been a good week, and I would love to sit here and ramble on about many other things, but right now the pressure is on for this Parasitology prac exam tomorrow... 30%. I am going to fail.
... really, I am.
This is impossible.
Why couldn't it be open book!?
I've never faced such a heavy graded exam being so unprepared. Even if I had spent this entire week at home, I still doubt I will be able to do well.
Identifying parasites = much failure.
But, I shall spent this afternoon and evening head down in the books, and try to memorise as much as I can. One more week of classes, then I am done. By the 27th, the degree is finished.
Godspeed!
You!
Black Emperor!

Godspeed!
You!

...
"All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die in one life before we can enter another."
...
It's hard to maintain the stable ground I seek to find. Forever stumbing on the rocks and boulders that hault my ability to control myself. The situations I fall so easily into are both wonderful and incredibly confusing.
Although bombarded with the arrows of external circumstances and the attitude of the other, I was the one who made the fatal wound because I wasn't strong enough to deal with the troubles that we were facing. I ran.
We knew it was going to happen, I guess we tried. A second chance awaits on his return... only time will tell.

Nick Cave
..
Rhys texted me just a short while ago to inform me that Nick Cave is coming to Perth, 20th of January next year... oh.. ^___^
I'm awfully excited, his voice is one of incredible depth and beauty, to the hear the songs I spent listening to on lonely reflective nights and when I needed the comfort of a mans voice and beautifully tragic lyrics.
I have a feeling a tear or two shall be shed with quite a few of his songs that I've grown to adore.

It's quite strange though, Rhys and I were *just* talking about this last night... here's the conversation, to show proof that there's someone that listens to the rambles of Rhys and I and brings us the artists we want to see!

Next year shall be a good year.
BTW Reece: have you heard anything about Mr Thompson? He came up in our conversation, now I'm wondering how he is. All such rumours...

TAKE THESE PILLS AND SHOVE THEM
...
ALL TOO MANY PATHS TO TAKE AND YET I AM TIED TO THE ONES I HAVE CHOSEN. WILL HAPPINESS FOLLOW ME?
"EVERYTHING IS BASED ON MIND, IS LED BY MIND, IS FASHIONED BY MIND. IF YOU SPEAK AND ACT WITH A POLLUTED MIND, SUFFERING WILL FOLLOW YOU, AS THE WHEELS OF THE OXCART FOLLOW THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE OX. EVERYTHING IS BASED ON MIND, IS LED BY MIND, IS FASHIONED BY MIND. IF YOU SPEAK AND ACT WITH A PURE MIND, HAPPINESS WILL FOLLOW YOU, AS A SHADOW CLINGS TO A FORM."
HERE'S SOME MUSIC!

You got a killer scene there, man.
Well the past few days have been terrific fun.
Thursday - MESHUGGAH. This concert was one of the most brutal I've been to, and it was *just* what I needed to rid of all this tension I've been holding, and all this Uni stress. There is absolutely nothing in the world like getting deep into the pit and thrashing around with dozens of people around you, all diving in, getting down and sweaty to the heavy tunes of a good band.
I arrived at 7:30 or so, doors opened at 8. My friend Kirke hadn't arrived yet so I turned to the people waiting around with me and sparked up a conversation with two guys who attend UWA, doing Engineering. We chatted for a while, and it was well good to chat to some new faces about the music we enjoy (c'mon, the dude was wearing a Mastodon shirt, how could I resist?). We went inside and I stayed with one of the guys for the first band while we enjoyed a few drinks. Kirke showed up too eventually, and we stood around enjoying the opening band, Alchemist.
Meshuggah came on and took the stage with incredible power, I remember at one point Kirke and I were literally hanging on to one another at the edge of a circle pit, we looked at each other and by a mere look we could tell this is what we came for, pure energy and full of awesome. I lost Kirke about half way through so I ended up getting closer to the stage, afterwards running into those two guys from out the front. We exchanged numbers and we're going to go check out some local bands next weekend I believe. All in all, it was an incredible night... can't wait for the next concert!

Friday - This found me cruising with Adam to Northbridge, along with Alia, David, Ben, Roberto and Emma. Adam and I got some dinner beforehand, and picked up the special edition Dream Theater DVD. Cannot WAIT to settle down one evening and enjoy watching it.
Drinks were had, jokes were made and chatter had by all. It was really nice to see them all again, folk I've come to know through various shows. I took along my camera and took a few pictures, to which I've put up in a photobucket link to copy/paste into the bar:
http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n9/30497992/The%20Brass%20Monkey/
Hehe, good times, good times. Ended up crashing at Bens with Roberto, had a final drink and watched Strapping Young Lad DVD (Devin Townsend: you are a God) along with the Gigantour DVD and a bit of the Gojira DVD. I borrowed them too, so those too I shall watch again and enjoy. Got home the next day and crashed into bed until 3pm... to which I awoke to yet another social gathering.
Saturday Scotts 18th, which was nice. Reece making delicious Java Juice mixed drinks and so much food, an awesome banquet of Red Rooster and cake. We stayed for a few hours, and listened to Scotts parents and Reece say a few words in Scotts honour, which I think was incredibly sweet! Afterwards I headed to Joels place and we hit into some of the green and lazed around. Jamie was there, haven't seen him since May last year. Ben came home at some point, and we could hear him being violently ill in the bathroom the poor guy. ^__^;; While the entire time I was trying to control my body from twitching, it was nice to end the social days that way, watching shit on TV in the early AM hours.
Woke up at 10am, Joel gave me his too small Queens of the Stone Age shirt, which I think is rad... and is what I'm wearing right now. Got home, went shopping, came back... and here I am.
Now: reality hits back. Presentation tomorrow... the final weeks are here, and the intensity is on. But, I think after this weekend the mind has had its fill, and is ready to buckle down and get this degree!!
Thanks to you folk, who read this blog, as I really enjoyed your company, thanks for taking me out/having me round. ^__^

I've done fuck all this weekend. :/
Thanks for the plushies Reece, they're so adorable! ^____^
Don't want to go to Uni tomorrow. Can't wait for Meshuggah though, will be good to hang out with Kirke again, we've been talking about going to a show together for ages now. Shame to miss Down though. Thinking about missing Machine Head too.... ... possibly.... only a few days before my big Parasitology prac (30%!). I'll be well lucky to even pass that...
I wonder what I'm going to get for my Philosophy essay, we get them back on Tuesday.

We drove together, but ended up alone.
Well, I'm writing this at 2:04pm, just woke up from what was a most incredible night of dreaming... I wanted to write it down. I don't expect anyone to read this at all, seeing as it's just me going on and on, it's more for my own record of such a thing.
We were at my old primary school, hanging out, having fun, walking around the basketball court. We looked up, and saw planes... planes flying so dangerously low. There were a number of them in the sky, we had no warning, but we knew what they were... they were fighter planes, they held bombs. They were looming over us while the fear gathered inside of us. We suddenly knew we were at war, we were being attacked.
The first bomb went off, about a few miles in front of us. The explosion mesmorised us, panic suddenly took hold, what were we to do? We ran to the principles office, seeking help. Mr Berril was there, and he spoke in a calm voice, he showed us the radio broadcast, the announcement of planes and soldiers approaching our shores.
We were told to wait outside. Wait for direction, but we couldn't stand still, we couldn't wait for our death so idly. I ran over to the oval, and for some reason got a clear view of Perth city, we saw the planes bomb the city centre, we heard screams, all around... I saw one fly over the new underground train line, a bomb delivered... a minute later the Mandurah line train came out of the ground, all in flames. I saw the football oval, a game being held, I saw another bomb being delivered into there, I heard the screams of the fans before the moment of detonation.
Panic. The people with me gathered behind the office. There were many of us, a lot of people I knew, Reece, you were there... along with a lot of old classmates from highschool and some from University. We all had a common goal: drive into the Australian desert. We will be safe there.
We gathered every car we could. For some reason, we had access to tanks that they guys quickly took over. I went with Reece and Stephanie Leach in a white car. I was in the backseat, trying to conduct the massive migration. We left everything behind... we took nothing. We drove, for hours, quickly giving us an advantage of taking action so readily. We stopped at a deli, and we all had lunch. There were about 50, or 60 of us. Ben Hopwood was there, he and Reece bought this fish rice dish, which I stole some of, it was actually pretty nice.
Now: this trip wasn't to take a few hours... for some reason it was going to take us at least two days of solid driving. We stopped for a while by a lake, and rested. Everyone trying to make light, trying to forget. I saw Kevin Ellis (... WTF) try and pick on a friend of mine, he was a waving a gun in his face. I wanted to stop this, I went up and told him off for being so foolish and childish. The gun went off, my friend was shot, and he died. I retaliated, I pushed him, and an old quiet, shy old housemate of mine, Fiona, came to help. He shot both of us, but for some reason it didn't kill us.
I couldn't take this anymore, I couldn't take the violence that our group went into. I stole a car, and left everyone behind. I drove, back to Perth. Back to ground zero. For some reason, I knew there was something more going on.
I reached home, and went straight for Kent Street SHS. I noticed... that the planes were gone. There were just now scores of soldiers, roaming the streets, going door to door, shooting anyone they see.
I was scared.
I ran into the first building. The science building. It was bigger than it really is, it was enclosed... it had many floors. I ran inside, trying to take cover. I found Stephen Hawking in one room, he told me things... that weren't right...
"Don't stay in a room, where the aliens decay. Don't breathe in their flesh, it will impregnate you."
This whole war was coinciding with an alien invasion! We heard the soldiers advance toward the room where he and I was. There were no lifts.... there were just stairs. I had to leave him behind, I left him behind for my own life.
I ran.
I entered a room... with people. They were standing around a body, an alien corpse. I froze. I saw.. particles... rise from the body... these people were all infected. I had to run, I had to get out of there.
Back outside the building, I was in the carpark, trying to find a car with keys. I found one, and decided that I was foolish to come back. What was I thinking!? I drove.
I stopped by a lake, and entered this old shack that we stopped over on the way on the first trip. All over the walls were photos of us, that we took... to remind someone... anyone... that we were here. That we were facing this together, that our friendship meant something. All those smiling faces, all far away from me now, towards freedom. Except for me who had to live with the regret of leaving them behind, who was now trapped, I knew I couldn't catch up with them in time, they would catch me first.
------------------------------------------------------------
The dream went on, but it got a bit strange after that, the mother ship, the TV broadcast to the aliens, trying to seek revenge. But, that half seemed to be the most prominant. That part, the ending really broke my heart, I woke up from this dream, not half an hour ago in tears.
So. Uh. Despite the subject matter, and the ending, it was a pretty rad dream. There were a lot of people in it that I haven't though of in ages, since highschool. The detail was incredible, and I guess I wanted to write this down before I forget. But perhaps I should stop reading war novels before I sleep.

Trinity's Child
1:43am, had a long day at Uni today. Tomorrow I have off, thankfully, so I'm going to sleep in, and get some research work done. Our research project is due in exactly one day less than a month.. we've written about 1000 words so far together, long way to go.
Just ordered a Mastodon shirt off their official site, they have a lot of their merch on sale, and I thought: why the hell not? So, for $9.99 US + shipping I've got myself a neat Blood Mountain shirt.

So that's cool... a lot of things coming in mail, I bet at least one order is bound to fail and get lost.. or something. I don't entirely trust the post, or the internet. But it makes waking up easier, hoping to find a nice notification of package in the postbox. Having this extra cash won't last long, but, it's nice to be able to buy things I've always wanted without stressing or budgeting.
I'm reading a book at the moment: Trinity's Child. Very intense. Nuclear War. Mutually Assured Destruction. Reading this book, it makes me realise how very much a possibility it is that we can really destroy this planet, the knowledge has always been there, but the realisation of it hasn't. Wars (if there must be) should be man on man, long dreary battles in fields, tactical decisions. Motivational films, cheap guns, patriotism. Not nuclear bombs, not stealth fighters or shit like that. I don't know. War is devastating, but it's a reality.
I hate reality sometimes.
But yes = good book.

The mark has been made.
After a terrible night last night, I decided that some shopping therapy might do me some good, so I struggled out of bed, and went off to K-Mart to get a few things.
One which I am currently using right now, a new keyboard, which I think is rad. I needed a new one after all, the amount of grit and dirt in my old one couldn't be cleaned (well perhaps it could, but I was lazy). So I got myself a nice black one, easier to type too, don't have to strain to press keys, and crap even the multimedia keys work. = Win.
I also picked up two Summer pieces of clothes for $5, so that's pretty swell. Some biscuits and Tamagotchi cover with stickers and such. Who ever said that shopping therapy doesn't work?

... Okay, I've just found out the one fault of this new keyboard, and that is that is that the POWER key is placed exactly where my Insert key was. Which means whenever I got for copy/paste, I can shut my computer off entirely. I predict much danger when writing essays. Perhaps I should remove that key. :/
Anyway... it's Thursday of the Study break, and I haven't got much done at all. Plan for today:
- Work on Parasitology assignment. Get to basic plan.
- Work on Progeria research, finish gene research section. (wait... realistic... uh... write a bit more then...)
- Finish X Files after work is done. Only two more episodes till I've seen all of 9 seasons.
I was up till 7am this morning, unable to sleep, unable to let go. I'm tired, but at least perhaps I can sleep good tonight. I'm sorry to you Mike, that things went the way they did. Was bound to happen, I guess, things have been too good and relaxed lately. Two steps forward, three steps back.

By the way, I realised while drawing up my Parasitology maps that us Biomeds have it quite easy, bless the humans for being a species of their own, I kind of feel sorry for the Vets who have to learn the parasites of sheep, cows, poultry, domestic animals, mwahah! Although perhaps this means our exam will be harder. =(

Walking out to Uni today, I took a peek in the letterbox and saw a wonderful small package from The Netherlands! It was my CD ordered, the last one I needed for my Ayreon CD collection! I didn't expect it so soon.
Signed too, how I do adore that man and his music! I've been wanting a copy of this rock opera for so long now, I am yet to watch the DVD... I very much look forward to it!

Lines in the Sand
I can relive that night over and over again in my mind and still the feeling of intense happiness and disbelief never fades.
We were so lucky to have them come here!!
Anyway: had my Adv. in Medical Science exam today... 4 weeks worth of lectures, total of 16 topics in lectures, plus workshop material. I wish I could take a few days off and relax, but there is still so much to do!
I think I did okay, well, I did the best that I could for the fact my mind has been elsewhere this past week. It wasn't as bad as I expected. .. perhaps... some of the questions were real easy, so I got some marks at least.
No other real news to report. Heading down to Mikes place to see Frode and Morgaine with Adam. Going to spend the weekend there, hopefully get some decent gaming in and work on some assignments throughout the day so I keep up date with everything.
Enjoy the video!

Jen + Debit Card = Expensive
I've been thinking lately what to do with the money now that I won't be going to Bahrain. Racking my brains for something I most desired... and it hit me today what that was... and that was a copy of Ayreons THE HUMAN EQUATION!
Apparently it's getting signed by the grand master of new prog: Arjen!... but I rambled a bit in the message and actually ended up asking a question rather than what I wanted written.. but we'll see haha.
Ah!! It's the last CD I need to complete my entire Ayreon discography!!
It's been a favourite album of mine for a few years now, it still remains as the most complete, incredible AMAZING rock-opera I have ever experienced!
I can't wait!
And you know what's funny, ordering it from Europe on the official website + signed copy + internation shipping is STILL cheaper than buying it from Australian stores. :/
*anxiously in wait*

I saw time move faster today.
Well, it's 12:02am and already I've retreated into bed. Even though I climbed into bed earlier than I have done all year (11:30pm) I just couldnt get to sleep, even though I was so incredibly tired. My body clock is so in tune with the early AM hours, I find it hard to let my mind go before such them.
A few things have come to light recently.
1) I am sure now that I won't be going to Bahrain for Christmas. I decided this just last night, when I was talking with Mike. Our conversation was nice, and we remained reasonable and calm throughout, speaking of how things are and not how they should be. Last week, I admit, things weren't looking good at all, I feared the worst and was about ready to accept the lifestyle of being single once again. But, we've talked.
The main reason for the abandoning of plans, is that despite my hopeful optimism.... it's just too expensive for me to handle. Even with Mikes and my Mums help I'd be down at least $500 or so. I've tried so hard, these past few months, and hoped so much..
So, the new plan: wait out these 4 1/2 months. Wait for Mike. We've already passed 3 months (only that much??) so I guess... perhaps... we can make it... That's 7 1/2 months of not seeing the one you want to be with most. That's a long time for people so young as us..
But, yes, the new plan: stay here, use the money I have already to pay for a ticket to go see my Dad for his 60th birthday. Use the rest for various things... mainly to go see Machine Head. Possibly Down and Meshuggah too, if time and plans come to place. :)
Besides, I have my passport now. If Mike and I are still together next year, I'll be sure .. SO sure to be able to go with him over the break next Semester (if I have one!?). Which leads to number two...
2. I'm so unorganised for next year.
3. I spoke to my Philosophy lecturer today, face to face, which I havent done yet, only a few quiet words and input in the tutorials. He gave me a hella awkward look, and I think to my horror I must have given him one back. I don't think he could hear me well, but he said if I needed any help just email him or go see him. I like my lecturers, some throughout these years have gone even so far as to show enthusiasm for meeting us at Sir Walters for a coffee and discussion.
Oh.. wait.. 3 isn't really any sort of realisation at all. Oh well.
Message for Reece: you want to do something this weekend? I know you work on Saturdays, how about afterwards, we can hit up dinner at KFC or something cheap and indulgant like that? We could get Joel in on it too, he works Saturdays too yeah?
Also: I demand bloggage! I have no idea what you're up to at Uni or anything. ^__^

Fathers Day
I called my Dad today, that being for it is the special day of Fathers Day. I found him quietly amused at his house, not doing much of anything. I told him that it may be possible I wont be heading to Bahrain after-all, which means I may be able to go see him in December for his 60th birthday.
I sit here, listening to A Song For Our Fathers by Explosions in the Sky, thinking about how much I miss him, his quiet nature and shy self. I hope he's happy over there, he always calls, every week to how I'm doing. To say hello and tells me that he loves me and misses me, and I say my words back. I love my Dad, I really do. While my brother and I had a strange childhood full of anger and changes, Dad still remained to us how we was, and in all my years I can never remember him yelling at us, never getting angry towards Joe and I. And I appreciate that.
The Bunce family, is a strange one. Full of crazy folk with many stories to tell. I don't see them as much as I want to, but every Christmas or the occasional birthday the family gathers at the all familiar Uncles house, sitting in this harsh Australian heat at nighttime with a fire burning and us all sitting around, chatting and laughing. Christmas with beers in hands, with AC/DC playing on the stereo and the new generations coming in and us welcoming them.
My older brother, Stuart called me just then, about half an hour ago. I haven't heard from him in a while, and he always lifts my spirits high and reminds me of such a family I have. He's invited me round to his place in a few weeks time to watch a football match. I get to see Liam and Maddison, his two kids who have always escaped my view! I haven't seen those two since they were mere toddlers! They live with their mother and only visit Stuart on occasional weekends, hence the reason why I haven't been able to visit them. Must be about... I think, 6 or 7 years since I've seen them. :/ It's crazy to think!
I spoke to Maxine too, today, my oldest friend from Kindergarden. I'm going to see her on Wednesday, to see her and her baby, and we're going to go see our old primary school teacher Mrs Owens. I'm really looking forward to it! I haven't seen Mrs Owens since before I started my degree.
So, a very wonderful Sunday I've had. Full of love for people who are most dearest to me growing up. The study break is over, back to class tomorrow. Not long now.

Opeth
Well, as most of you know, Opeth was last night!
I should have written something last night, or this morning, as the brilliance of it has faded with once again being shut into a lonely night on MSN, with insecurities about everything and the .. damn... haha... damn, I sound so pathetic.
Anyway, yes, Opeth was last night!
Met up with Ben and a few of his friends at about 6:30pm, to be later met by Roberto. Had a few drinks in Northbridge before we lined up for the venue. So many people, so many wonderful characters if only I had the time to speak with them all!
The opening band was decent, much of it though was spent at the bar, or on the balcony. Intermission... the anticipation.... it's all such a wonderful experience! I love that moment, of waiting, of the task of getting through the crowd to get closer. We got a good spot, I could see the stage the whole time, which is usually something which doesn't happen much.
Opeth came on, and played a hell of a decent set! Songs both new and old, with Akerfeldts delightful commentary between them that brought laughs from the crowd. The crowd was tame and respectable, looking around everyone seemed to be into it, in tune with the band and the songs that were played. Three cheers for Opeth, much kudos for them to come out and play Perth again! :D
Afterwards (c'mon, you pretty much know how the rest of it went), I got a call from Henry... "Hey Jen, you wanna meet Opeth?". He apparently handed the phone to one of the members, I don't remember much of what was said, as I thought Henry was confused... therefore making me confused. Anywhoo, he took us round to the parking lot area where the band was hanging out backstage.
And, I must say, I'm not used to such an idea of meeting a band after a gig, it's been something I've always wanted to experience, and had trouble believing it was actually happening!
Handshakes were had, and much kudos to Henry. Then I saw behind the gather Mikael Akerfeldt hanging around the door, so, naturally... I wanted to go say hello. >___< I went up, and said "Hey".. and yeah.. conversation was basically thankyou for coming to Perth, whats the next stop, what was it like touring with DT. And then I asked him for a hug, to which he accepted! Haha, I felt like such a tool for asking for one, but damnit, this isn't a regular occurance!!
Such a high afterwards, Henry gave me a lift home, the whole way in a state of amazement on how wonderful the night went down. Cheers Roberto and Ben for letting me go with! ^___^

When I got home, I had the strangest desire to call Mike and tell him of the night, even though I know he cares nothing for my passion for music at all.. Called Adamo, and finally spoke to Mike.
Went to bed at about 2am, I woke up devoid of feeling, piecing together all the events of last night. A smile was found, and I got up to face the day of relaxation and study.
I don't know whats happening with Mike. I really don't. I hate to ruin such a blog with my words on this, but I feel it is a fine reminder to me how *good* I felt last night. The stark contrast between realities, a reminder that music is once again an aid in being able to escape.
Things will make themselves clear, I'm sure of it. One way or the other. This whole distance thing isn't working out all that well, but, I am not one to give up so easily when I care deeply for another. Ah, so difficult, yet so worth it in the end, I hope.
Hey, you know, to finish on a lighter note.. it's funny, yeah, because lately I've been needing a hug, I just never did think it would be from the singer of Opeth. ^___^

The Crow Soundtrack
It's good.
Oh, well I might as well add why.
NIN, Pantera, Rage Against The Machine, Rollins Band and some strange other unknown bands with engaging tunes.
I bought this for $5 down in the country town of Wagin in a street market. My Mum got to listen to it all weekend as it was the only CD I had down there and I took it on myself to hijack the stereo. I rarely like soundtrack CD's... but this one I like, it's very complete.

Fragile
I dreamt of a day in my life, familiar surroundings, but with strangers around me. A day, in which we questioned our own lives, our existance, throughout which we were constructing our own suits to dive into a deep abyss of nothingness.
These suits were white, with customised padding. I remember trying the head one on, it was so tough it seemed I could be protected from whatever was in that abyss, it seemed like we were invicible from all external harm.
I remember laying down, with a man sitting beside me. And we talked of how we were about to through with this... how we were about to embark on the greatest adventure of our lives.
The final walk, down the concrete path, we felt so peaceful, and calm, carrying the equipment for our suits. I remember seeing Mike in front of me, we said goodbye for he was not to come with us, he was leaving the next morning on a flight. I knew I'd never see him again, but we held it to a silent understanding that this was what was had to be done.
We knew that we were going to face our death in that chasm of darkness, and yet we welcomed it with a sense of exploration, and curiousity. For some reason I felt so peaceful, moreso than I had ever been.
----------------------------------------------------
This was what I dreamt just then, in the space of my short nap. I remember no faces but Mikes. Today in Philosophy we read the works of Lucretius and Epicurus, a short glimpse into that particular understanding of nature and the universe. It mentioned in it, the ideas similar to a verse which I had wrote about in this here blog a while ago earlier this year:
"No one finds it disturbing to contemplate the eternity preceding his own birth, and he took this to show that it must be irrational to fear death, since death is simply the mirror image of the prior abyss."
We discussed this idea today, and must have been sparked in my dreams as well. I was saying only the other day that my dreams lately have been lacking substance, I guess this confirms that this is indeed not true, for I woke up in quite the surreal state of mind.
How I do love my evening naps.

Finland
Just finished writing a long letter to my penpal over in Finland. We've been writing to each other for about 6 years now, since I was 13/14 or so. It's incredibly nice to, every letter we send seems to describe such new changes in our lives and its amazing to read what Katariina has been up to. Each of us describing our schooling, our interests and of course, the love aspects of our young lives. I won't write too much about what has happened to her the past few years, for the sake of confidence between the two of us, but she is an incredibly nice girl, and she has been wronged in the past. I am glad though, that she has found someone who will treat her right, her and Jimi seem such a lovely couple, they are now engaged. ^___^
I hope to visit Finland one day, to see Katariina and to experience all that the European countries can offer, they seem so romantic and full of life and simple pleasures. Of music festivals, small towns and lazy afternoons in a secluded park with a loved one, sipping wine and rolling around in the grass and trees that are so full of colour! *daydreams* I doubt Mike will embark on such a romantic adventure with me, but who knows. :3
I've started working on my Parasitology essay, hope to get most of it done by the end of the week, I have too much to do on the study break to focus entirely on that one essay.
2:08am, I think I may sleep early tonight. I have exhausted all activities and motivation today, ready to embrace sleep as it is and wake up tomorrow to enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon. I love my Sunday afternoon walks, there's so many people outside walking their pets, or washing their cars. The only thing it lacks is the sense of communication between neighbours, how I wish I could have been in such an era when two strangers sit down on a porch with the wife bringing out lemonade and suddenly the barriers of social awkwardness are forgotten, friends are made without effort and one never feels lonely in a tight community of people both young and old. Neighbourhood lunches and BBQ's, friendly services and favours for one another...
Ah! I must be tired.. the mind keeps drifting off into such glorious states of imagination. Even though I have spoken to absolutely no-one today except for a brief encounter with a drunk Rhys, it's okay I think. I think? One of these weekends I shall get out and socialise, I am keen on a night at a bar, of seeing a good local gig, at least there is Opeth to look foward to.
The day has ended, music has been played and study attempted. Goodnight! >___<

Planning, Pay-Per-Views, Parasitology and Philosophy.
...
Undertaker and Michelle McCool? ?? WTF Reece?
So, uh, as by that statement, one can assume that Wrestling was today, Summerslam at Reeces. I left my Parasitology lab an hour early as so to make it to his at a reasonable hour. I met Joel and Scott there, and while Scott was cleaning the pool, we headed out for Subway. Ah, so delicious!
Always nice to hang out with the Kent Street folk and watch the PPV, thanks again Reece for having us over yet again. ^__^
I lay in bed right now, 2:21am, having only read half of my Philosophy reading that is to be done by tomorrow. It's a particularly hard text to read, Aristotle on the Soul. But, I've concluded that I will most likely write my first essay on the subject of the soul, as I have read much about it both in this unit and in my previous Phil. unit, Life Death and Meaning. I hope to have a basic plan written up for it by the end of the week. As well as one for my Parasitology essay. Must start planning.
Even though my plan to go back to IGA was a failure, I mustn't take it as an excuse to not work these coming weeks. I may ask around Uni for part-time temporary work. Perhaps the library has something? Getting to Bahrain I'm sure will be okay financially, it's ... just getting... there and having nothing to spend.. and... uh...
...
......
Okay I lie, I *really* want to go to Machine Head, to Down and also to Meshuggah.. perhaps with careful planning I can go to at least one of those. But, I am willing to make sacrifices and not attend any... we'll see how my job hunting goes.
The quiet hum of the fans of my PC is strangely comforting... I should take it apart and give it a good clean one of these days. Also must get the VPN client to work on this here laptop as so I can use the Murdoch internet. I predict in the coming weeks more hours spent up at the library as these essays and assignments get rolling. It's so hard to focus here at home with my bed so near and my music so tempting for it to be played loud and with passion.

21 hours locked out.
AaAh!!
Guess who just spent 21 hours locked outside of their own house!??
It all started yesterday morning. I woke up in the BEST mood... I can't really explain why, everything just seemed so in place, I had recieved an email from Mike when I woke up, and the day was beautiful and my hair was behaving. On my walk to Uni I found myself singing 'Natures Dance' by Ayreon, a very uplifting nice song... Uni itself went fantastic, I got to socialise a bit, and had my presentation in which I got to speak in front of about 60 people.
It wen't well, I do love public speaking. And was looking forward to getting home to reply to Mike, and to have a nice relaxing night at home with Nevermore and some Diablo II.
Got home.... went to reach for the door... and it was locked. Okay, no big deal, went in search for my keys... only to the horror of realising I had forgot them that morning!!! Alternate plan: check around back to see if it was unlocked: no dice.
So..
I called Kitty and she said she'd be back in 2 hours or so, but I think there was a miscommunication through the phone, as I said "oh cool man, take your time"... to which she might have interpreted it to be don't worry about it at all.
5 and a half hours of sitting outside on my porch..... >_______>
Oh my god, it was terrible! I'm sorry Adam I kept bugging you over the phone, I was hella bored and my anxiety levels were through the roof. All I wanted to do was get inside, and trust me, if I owned this house, there would have been a whole in the window well before the point I got to last night.
Frode and Morgaine came and resued me, and I cannot thank them enough for doing so. I was so grateful, so incredibly grateful!! And thank you Adam! >___<
Lesson: NEVER forget my keys again, don't rush off to Uni.
Just got in now.
So. That was my past 24 hours.

The Human Equation.
20 songs.
12 voices.
One brilliant mind.

James Labrie
Mikael Akerfeld
Devin Townsend
DT
Opeth
Strapping Young Lad
I have listened to this album... .. many, many times... There are many stories I can tell about my experiences with it. There's a lot of memories attatched, and a lot of nights spend pondering the lyrical and musical brilliance that this album posesses.
It is a true shame the magic of Arjens work is not widely known, I just consider myself very lucky to have been given the chance to hear it.

Quiz = Boredom
I was invited by Adam to do a music quiz jig that his friend David did. It seems fun, and I am down for some evening tunes anyhow, so it should be fun. =P
RULES:
1. Put your MP3 player/ iPod/ Media Player on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.
IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY" YOU SAY?
From Mars (Gojira)
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
Fight Fire With Fire (Apocalypica) - Rather untrue, I hope. ^__^;
WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?
Interlude (John Petrucci)
HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?
Itenerant (Rosetta) - Hmm apparently: an itinerant is a person who travels from place to place with no real home. =(
WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?
Waiting For The Worms (Pink Floyd) - Ah! What!? So depressing! But how strangely true, the realisation of ones mortality.. *weeps*
WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
Closer (NIN) - Hopefully not meaning the lyrics in this song... seedy as HELL.
WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?
Trephination (Machine Head) - Apparently: Trephination (or trepanation) is an operation performed since Stone Age times in which a circular section of the skull is carved away, leaving a hole in the skull. It is speculated that the operation was done as a treatment for abnormal behavior, such as hallucinations or was done based on a perception that there were evil spirits that needed releasing. - Ha.. hilarious. I hope friends don't think of me needing such a procedure. >__< Good song, however.
WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
15 Feet of Pure White Snow (Nick Cave) - Sadly, I am not 15 feet tall, I am however, 10ft tall with a knife.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?
Betrayal/Forgiveness (Apocalyptica) - Well, I like the act of forgiving, for people deserve such a thing once or twice in their lives.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
Exit Music (For A Film) (Radiohead) - Ah, Mike... so sad.. the lyrics...
WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
Like Light To The Flies (Trivium) - Forever drawn to something I admire?
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
Dead London (Jeff Wayne)
WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
The Mirror (Dream Theater) - Hahaha, no. Although sometimes I do get a good reflection of myself and how love can make people experience the philosphical maddness that comes with being blinded by such a feeling.
WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
You Would Know (QOTSA) - I don't know, would you?
WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
Fireworks (Moby) - Hmm... right artist, right album, wrong song.
WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?
Sail Away To Avalon (Ayreon)
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?
Omaha (Set Fire To Flames) - What's an Omaha, isnt that a city?
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET?
Garden of Light (Isis)
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?
Robotic Lunch (Desert Sessions)
--------------------------------------
Some of those answers were quite sad. I don't like this quiz.

Waiting for Sleep
Today was nice. I finished Uni earlier than expected, all I had today was a lab and a quick brief meeting with my AIMS (Advances in Medical Science... will be shortening because we're lazy) ...er.. uh.. yes, AIMS group to start organising our group presentation which is due next week. It's about ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology... damn these abbreviations) laboratory regulations, pretty simple stuff, I've already found some good references for it. An easy 4%!
After Uni I started my trip into the city to meet with Morgaine. We couldn't find each other for about 45 minutes! But, she finally found me and we headed off to the bookstore, Borders where I saw my old Philosophy tutor working there! We were at the checkout when I was admiring the nice pens they had for sale when I heard him call my name. Didn't even recognise him as he had grown a beard since I saw him last. He was an incredibly nice and caring tutor, and has been to this day the only one I've really enjoyed talking with. It was good seeing him. :3
Morgaine and I then went wandering abouts the anime and comic book stores as she wanted to buy Frode a gift. We went to all of them and admired all things neat and fun. I managed to find MJ a gift while I was there too!
The night ended with a drink at a cafe, and the poor girl ordered a tropical juice but halfway through realised that it had Kiwi in it... to which she is slightly allergic to. >__<
But, despite the mishaps the night was very lovely, its incredibly rare to hang out with another of the same sex, as sad as that sounds, so it was nice. We're both pretty bummed about Mikes illness and his staying over in Bahrain, but, we realise this Semester will pass quickly enough...
It's for the best.
So now, the first week back has ended and I am sitting here in bed with my laptop, procrastinating away from reading up on Parasites, as interesting as they are. Waiting for sleep.

God Is An Astronaut
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkawnSrsq1k
This band is called God Is An Astronaut.
This whole genre... this type of music... it's mind-expanding. I have been delving into this sort of music for about two years now... and still the same tracks manage to send my heart fluttering and the mind to wander to a whole other level entirely, it's incredible.

Interesting Title
First week of Uni is going well. I'm glad to be back, I've had a nice few days up on campus so far. Ah, but how tough this semester will be! I almost dread to think of the deadlines and work and research that must be commited to... this is without a doubt, going to be one of the toughest Semesters of my degree.
We have an epic Semester long research project to do, and I was lucky enough to be asked by previous Uni partner of mine, Jia. He and I led the group last Semester in our Pharmacology presentation, and now we've set on our own to tackle this 5000 word essay. It is of genetic topics, and we've chosen the extremely rare genetic disorder; Progeria. I suggest anyone who reads this goes and looks it up, google it, whatever method. It's a shocking disorder, I first learnt of it in first year in Intro to Human Anatomy, I remember I thought of the images of the children for quite a while and was always so very curious as to the causes of it. Therefore I am very eager to start researching this project.
Although.... my genetic knowledge will need to be dusted off, fine tuned and perfected... ... !!
Mike comes back tomorrow, and I can't wait to see him this weekend! x
I am proud, I haven't napped today. Maybe I can actually fall asleep before 4am tonight.

Can't sleep.
3:15am
Ah, want to sleep. I'm getting up at 11am tomorrow, the alarm is set, I've made a list of things to do tomorrow: all I have to do is get.. out.. of.. bed.
I'm looking forward to Uni again, something to occupy the mind, I like spending time up on campus and saying hello to all the familiar faces there. On the agenda this semester:
- Advances in Medical Science
- Parasitology
- Theories of Mind
Looks very interesting, but I fear this will be a tough haul. But, I figured that I will try my very best and if I fail I can always extend my studies to next year and throw in a double degree with Molecular Biology. :)
I miss Mike.

Sentient
Inspired by Reece's creation of a blog, I decided to write something. Also because despite the fact since 4pm yesterday I only slept for 3 hours and it is now 3:34am, I am awake here in bed listening to Nevermore.
Nevermore...
Today was really nice, we headed out to Freo, my two faithful readers went too. :3 I didn't expect many would come, but we had a modest little crowd, which was nice. Ah, so much to eat, it was fantatic! After eating mostly only crackers and rice for most of the week before because I was ill/lazy it was brilliant to have such a big meal for lunch!
Thanks for coming out. ^__^
Mike called me today, he wont be back for a few more weeks as he decided to stay in Bahrain for medical treatment. Such a shame, I was looking forward to the seeing him so very much! Would have been nice to have some time to ourselves before Uni started up again.
Need to find elective. Even though it would be wonderful to have a unit with Mike, Adam and Frode, it clashes too much. Unless I can sort something out I best change. I originally wanted to try to do another Philosophy unit, so I may. Even though I know I'm risking a pass in that because most of my ideas are too radical and obscure for the context of such units, I try to incorporate too much of them into my written work.
I've decided to buy ONE last ticket this year.
ONE
And that is to Machine Head. I had way too much fun at the last show to miss it again. No Pink Floyd Experience, no Down, no Meshuggah, no DragonForce (for lulz). None. One ticket and then I start saving.
I think I can manage the plane tickets to Bahrain, seeing as a grand of it is already secured. I just need money for spending, and so I can borrow as little as possible from Mike and my Mum for fees and plane business. I know I shouldn't go if I can't afford it, but how I want to so badly! To see another country! To experience waking up in a new part of the world! If I am financially smart the next few months, then I can go. Oh and my passport...
Waking at 12:30pm to meet with Adam to go booklist shopping. I'm only going to buy one of my lab manuals, see how I'll be spending my glorious afternoons doing in a lab. Although I get to dust off the lab coat, I feel a sense of wonder when I wear it, I feel like a kid in an adults outfit, wanting to play the part and pretend we are someone high in life and grown up. I love my lab coat.
"I see imperfection in your race.."
I must import these songs onto my PC so I can listen to them beyond the pathetic laptop speakers, to hear the magnificent vocals as they are meant to be heard: epically loud.
I'm going to watch repeats of Love Hina and try to sleep. One day I'm sure I'll write something of actual substance in these blogs.. one day.
Nevermore...

Biblical Proof of UFOs
Isis are currently writing for a new album, after the incredible success of their 2006 album In The Absence Of Truth.
Sweet.
Am currently laying in bed, 5:46am. My nose is running and my eyes are so watered up, I keep sneezing, and a mild headache is on the rise. = a cold.
:/
This is incredibly annoying, as I was keen to make the most of the next coming few days and week as its the last before we head back to Uni. I'm going to try and keep warm, and dig through my cupboards for medicine of sorts.
Just finished a night of gaming, tonight felt incredibly lonely for some reason, even though there were always people to be found. This always happens, I fall ill and my mood takes a dramatic down turn. I hope I wake up with this gone, one can hope.
I have Brant Bjork in my head, I found a brilliant website, www.stonerrock.com which has an incredible library of free mp3s for you to download and find some new bands. Best band name ever = Biblical Proof of UFO's.
Speaking of UFO's, there's been an incredible amount of activity in the news lately, former US astronaut of NASA has come forth about the claims that yes there are visitors to this planet and has been going on for about 60 odd years, that the governments of the world do indeed know of this and trying to cover it up. And this isn't the word of someone off the street, this is a national hero. This news is very exciting, NASA is trying to sever ties with such claims, but, at least it has made world news. Apparently sightings are up too, but is that only because people have been influenced by this story? Who knows, who knows.
I am looking forward to sleep.

5:21pm
Ah, 5pm I woke up, I meant to get up at 11am. This is bad!
The trip to the zoo tomorrow, we're meeting up at noon, meaning I have to get up at 10am. I doubt I will fall asleep before 7am. My beautiful plan was ruined by my laziness! How could this happen!
I had a strange night once in bed, my stomach did a funny turn and spent an hour not moving for fear of being sick, I have a feeling it was due to a medication that I take, but even that goes away shortly afterwards sometimes, but now I think it has lingered. Which in all reason shouldn't but I'm not feeling too well this morning/afternoon. I might just be hungry, so I'm going to enjoy a nice bread roll soon and sit back and try not to think about it.
I hope it doesnt rain tomorrow, the one day I hope for sunny skies and fluffy white clouds.
Oh, yes, of course, my internet is back! I'm so very glad! It's been a while, and it's good to know Diablo II and TF2 and all other sorts of online gaming is now available to me. Late night MSN and forum trolling is once again what I look forward to the rest of the holidays. ^___^

Still no internet..
I'm starting to get into a routine these past few days:
Wake up, shower, sit on computer watching things, games, more watching, fall asleep at dawn. Repeat.

Thank christ for the concert tomorrow, something to really get the mind in motion and the body grooving. I've really been looking forward to it, to being in a crowd once again, last one was the V Festival, which even that altered by certain things. But not this, this will be a good night out.
Here at the campus library, wanting to get my hair cut.
There's only a few people in here.
I've watched an entire season of Becker in two days.
I've finished watching Azumanga Diaoh again for the third time.
Damn everything!
Still deciding between iceskating and the zoo for the birthday. Reece, Adam, thoughts?
Been training up my strategy skills in Age of Empires: AOK. Been doing a lot of research and trying out techniques. It's good to be able to play it again, I've missed it. I havent yet tried the expansion for it.
